These volumes are, for me, a kind of three-dimensional book, recalling the pop-up picture books of my childhood, in which forms emerged from the pages when the book was opened and became a world for imagination and play.

In this work, the city does not exist as a physical structure. The black-and-white volumes are independent elements that, when illuminated, cast shadows across the walls and ceiling, creating a virtual city. This city exists only through light and the shadows produced by the volumes.
In darkness, the city does not exist; only silent, potential forms remain. Light, by revealing their shadows, brings into existence something that was not previously there. In this sense, light is not merely a means of illumination, but a force that constructs the space of the work, while the shadows transform a physical object into an imaginary and unstable world.
Through this process, the boundaries between reality and imagination, presence and absence, object and shadow begin to dissolve. The book is no longer simply an object to be opened and read; it is activated by light, allowing a city that has never physically existed to momentarily emerge within the surrounding space.
